Mini Crawdaddy

Post by Ian Horning » Mon Jun 06, 2016 5:06 pm

Here's a little crawfish fly. Tied hook-point up, weighted with small dumbbell eyes, on a size 8 hook. Tying is simple and fun, involving:
-Saddle Hackle
-Pheasant Tail
-Bucktail
-Wiggle Dub
-Ice Dub
-Rubber legs
-Burnt Mono/ colored black for eyes

It'll catch large and smallmouth bass and panfish, probably carp, and what it is really designed for, trout.

Give it to 'em.
You never know what you'll discover..... If you take a couple of steps into the water.

Those look great!
I have been working on a "backwards" crawdad pattern so when it is retrieved it goes tail first, like a real crawdaddy.
Haven't got the right "tail" action yet.
