Ugliest Pink Jig...that may actually work

Post by TyeeMatt » Tue Mar 03, 2015 10:29 pm

Here's a pink bugger I tied last night trying to practice a number of techniques before I move to smaller scales for trout flies. I bet it will at least coax a pink to bite, if not a summer steel.

Oh yea, bugger jigs work great for everything! It'll obviously kill plenty of pinks, but it'll work for cohos and steelheads too.

Looks great to me. Presentation is far more important than the "perfect jig" anyway. Try some other colors.

With the correct size selection the thing would slay the German Browns out here in our small streams.

This hung under an indicator will work for trout just about anywhere.

Looks awesome! love the wiggly legs. They've been working really well for me lately.

silly question...is the hook supposed to ride facing up? or is this vertical jigging so doesn't matter?

Thanks guys. No the hook is in the right place. The jig should lie just about horizontal to the river's surface as its making its way down the river underneath and downstream of the float. If it was vertical in the water I would have some serious issues with my presentation :)
