anybody ever fished here?
i hear it is the best lake in oregon for red-band trout, which in this lake are actualy a mix between red-band trout and steelhead.
these trout get HUGE with 3-8 pounders average and 10-20lbers that get caught regularly.
my grandmother lives about 5 mins from the lake and i am planning on hitting it up a lot this summer.
so again has anybody fished here and have anything to tell me about what to use when to fish etc.

I have never fished there as it is more of a wildlife sanctuary than a fishing hole. Besides there are alot more places down there with awesome fishing for bass and various trout species. However, the entire Klamath basin is a great place for an outdoor photographer.

My Mom and Step-Dad live in Roseburg, which is not toooooo far from Klamath Falls. Their house is on the South Umpqua River and i never have got a trout out of it, but WOW there is SOOO many small mouth bass and they will hit anything you put in the water. My biggest is 5 pounds, but i have seen much bigger swimming around.

While your there don't pass up the river. North of the lake past the Indian Casino past the old restaurant take a right on the next paved road park along the bridge an try it. You won't be disappointed at least that were I had a blast one time back in the summer of 99'.
