NM Ice

Post by CH59MI » Mon Jan 31, 2011 4:49 pm

I hope it's okay that I post some pictures from NM and CO ice fishing trips. It's not really a report so I hope it's no prob....
One of the guys mentioned he didn't think we had to deal with hardwater out here. LOL Not true, this year has been a little slow to develop but we do get ice at many of our lakes here. New Mexico has a wide variety of terrains, here are some pictures for all to enjoy.

Eleven Mile Pike 28"

Friend and fellow MI59 Member/the first person in all NM I know of to catch a tiger through the ice. 24" Bluewater Lake NM

Me with a fatty 17" Dulce Lake Bow that was just under 3 pounds
Image
23.5" Snake River Cutthroat I got at Antero Lake in CO last year.

I'm sure you guys up north have some really cool rockers but these are a couple I put together, they work like a champ!
Image
27" Cutbow I got last year at Antero CO. It was -28 that morning when we started fishing!

Small Perch from Eagle NEst LAke NM

Eagle Nest Rainbow

Eagle Nest landlocked Kokanee during spawn!
Image
Stone Lake NM Brown I got last year.

A friend and I took 2nd and 3rd in the first ice tourney we fished. I won like $!50 and he took home $90!! Not a bad deal... paid for the weekend!
