Im sure this question is as dumb as dirt. When duck hunting can you toss out a loaf of bread to attract ducks? Im kinda serious in asking this. Much like fishing and using feed eggs? No matter where I go when Im fishing and throw out the corners of my bread ducks come from all over. Can you not bait ducks or fowl?
My 2nd question is last week fishing the Snoqualmie you hear shotgun blasts all day. Nothing new. But someone was using an automatic shotgun. 7 shots in a row Bam bam bam so on. Is that legal to use an automatic. It dosent seem very sporting? Thanks hunters.

Hi Racfish
Yes it is illegal to bait ducks, geese and I believe any kind of gamebirds. I am hoping what you heard while fishing was more than one hunter shooting as you can legally only have 3 shotgun shells in your gun while hunting in this state.

Thank you Rosann. I know my rifles ,pistols and shotguns pretty well. Both of us were laughing about the rapid shots. We laughed saying it was the local police hunting. Thinking they would be the only people allowed Auto Shotguns.

You can crank off 7 shots pretty quick with a semi-auto. Check out some of Tom Knapp's videos, he can shoot 7 clays in under 2 seconds.

It could have been someone target shooting, but more likely it was a group of 3 or more hunters unloading on some ducks. Rosann is right on both accounts about baiting and a shotgun only being allowed to hold 3 shells. If you're caught breaking either of those rules it's a hefty fine and probably a confiscated firearm.

I ended the season pretty well, for hunting a new area in a new state. I ended up getting just over 20 ducks, all at cherry valley. Took me a little while to figure the place out, but I think I have a good handle on it now. Can't wait for next season.
