Camano Crab

Post by racfish » Mon Aug 25, 2014 10:36 am

3 of us went crabbing North Camano yesterday. It was a horrible crabbing day. 6 pots and 7 hours later we had 1 keeper. We got lots of small ones. Where did they go? we tried everywhere in Skagit flats. The crabs are not there. Ive crabbed here for 20 years and this is the first time I was skunked crabbing. :-({|= [angry]

Not only is everyone and their brother crabbing these days, the commercials and native americans are still taking their share and then some. This year has been poor to say the least. Lots of undersized and softshell in all the areas I have tried, including the coast. Look for the state to take drastic measures and severely cut the sport catch quota. Here's hoping that we will still get a winter crab season.
