Lived there for 10 years, first bit of advise dont eat anythiong out of the spokane river above spokane falls. I would head to Boyer Park for some dads, Last time I was there we left the pots in for an hour and captured over 50 good sized dads.

Waitts Lake north of Spokane has always been good for crawdads for me.

What did you use as bait?

Signal crays will swarm a dead trout, that's what I've been using after having no luck with hotdogs or cat food.

We used to go up there at night, throw out a half opened can of tuna fish or cat food. Then go wade out and pick them up by the bucket load with a pair of salad tongs and a flashlight.

Looks like a 'mud cat' is a catfish.

Yea, mud cat is a catfish, I guess they are actually yellow bullhead catfish. I was using trout carcasses as bait. I checked the trap a few times during the night, the catfish were small enough that they could swim into the trap eat what they wanted and swim back out. I have yet to catch more than one crawfish in my pot. I live near Silver lake and have only caught one, and that took me 3 overnight soaks.

Location, location, location, just tossing the pot in will not yield results. You need to find a stream entering the lake in many cases, drop your pot right out in front. Some lakes you can just toss'em out most no.
