How does one clam during low tide in Moclips or any Wa coastal Razor clam dig.?? Seems pretty dangerous fooling around on the beach at night. Is it even done at night?

Lanterns and flashlights. Its pretty neat when there are thousands of lights on the beach. The first digs tide is pretty late this year, really low tide.

There is always a lot of fooling around done on the beach at night, and you're right, it is dangerous. Paternity suits are scary as all get out...

People who are after razor clams will dig at night, in the early mornings, blowing wind, freezing cold, etc. I think they are even more nuts than hardcore steelheaders. With a night time low tide, the beach will be lit up like a Christmas Tree with flashlights and lanterns. This is the time of year when waterfowl gloves, and waders come in handy.
