I haven't been able to find out any places to catch crawfish near arlington and i was wondering if anybody knew some good places up there. Thank you for the help. Also I live in Sammamish and was hoping to catch some of those non-natives and i have built 5 traps but what should i use as bait? I was thinking of catching a few sunfish filleting them taking the fillets for dinner and leaving the part i don't want in the trap. would that work or will other things work better?

Fresh fish carcasses work from the same body of water, that would be ideal

Fish carcasses will work and if you don't have those try raw chicken or turkey. A drumstick or two usually works for me and it also works on crab out in the salt. Pikeminnows and suckers also work as bait and since you don't really eat them, you can just slash them up a bit and hang them in trap whole with a bit of wire.

thank you any tips on how to target the non-natives? i have a a 3'x10" diameter trap, 2 24"x8"diameter,2 24"x12" diameter, and a frabil one. any tips one were the best place to place them in pine lake would be? and how should i place them so curious people dont pull them?

All species - selective gear rules. Internal combustion motors prohibited.
TROUT Jan. 1-Aug. 31 Catch-and-release.
Other Game Fish Jan. 1-Aug. 31 Statewide min. size/daily limit.

This means any gamefish other than trout may be kept if legal to do so under the statewide rules.

Note: Salmon are not gamefish! They are considered foodfish and the slough is not open at any time for them.

The fish are trout sized and found near or on the bottom of lakes and streams. Pikeminnow will take just about anything a trout would. Suckers prefer worm, insect and egg type baits/lures. Just a reminder, under no circumstances is the use of bait, of any kind, allowed in the Sammamish River.

i was looking at the map of lake sammamish and found this and cant tell wether it is public or private i drove by but still couldnt tell... i want to know because i have heard that in that area there is a good amount of crawfish

it is the last dock on the right side of the lake

i think it might be public because theres a bunch of pinic tables and theres no house so i think it might be a public boat launch plus it doesnt looked well maintained (good sign to look for in government funded things) and i think i see a few sign post that look like wdfw sign posts

please help me figure it out because it looks so much like a public thing but i cant find anything that says for sure but i know a ton of unlisted places so i dont know lol

The last public park on Sammamish's west side as you head north towards Redmond is Idlywood Park. It has a dock, plenty of parking and you can launch a carry in boat there. Search around in the forum, it has been mentioned before. If you need directions and info, just google it.

i have been soaking my pot over night at pine lake near the dock with trout guts and heads as bait but haven't even caught a single crawfish...... any tips

Camron, every lake around you has them. Also, you are not far from Black River or Deschutes River. Both are loaded with dads.
