Fig Season
Ive been picking Figs at my mom and dads home . They grow the desert king variety which has purple flesh inside. I grow Mission figs which have golden meat inside but don't ripen till Sept. Ive now made 3 large batches of fig jam. Two batches of just canned figs. Not many people eat figs unless you come from a Mediterranean backround. Next will be fig newtons.Anybody around here eat figs? and what do you do with them?

I love figs but this is the first year my figs have grown at the proper time. I don't know what type they are. I cut one to see if it was ripe and it wasn't. So maybe soon.
