Northwest Fishing Reports

Do any of you eat Persimmons? I did a lil bartering with a friend and ended up with a 25 lb box of persimmons. Im gonna try my hand at persimmon jelly and jam. Im not positive but I think its a midwestern USA fruit. Could even be a mid south food. Just want to hear from anyone who has eaten them as a part of growing up. If you ate them how did you eat them?

I eat them, or at least my wife makes me eat them. They're quite tasty, we just peel them and cut the seeds out. For some reason you would think they taste like a tomato! Actually they're quite sweet.
