Where do you buy your Salmon?

Post by tobeka » Tue Nov 18, 2008 3:37 pm

I hate to ask this because normally I try and catch my Salmon but I just haven't had the time this year due to work. So....do any of you have any favorite places to buy Salmon from? I live in Yelm but I do travel around a little bit so I could try and stop by while I am out driving around.

So far I have only brought one local salmon home that I caught. I did pay to go on a guided fishing trip on the Cowlitz and came home with fish. It was a good time and they have to taste better than fish from a store. Steelhead are good, too.
Otherwise I get it at my local supermarket.

Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I go to Mutual fish on Rainier Ave. I've been going there for years. They pin-bone all my fish for me.All their seafood is number 1 quality. The second is Uwajimaya in the International District.I wouldnt buy from a QFC ,Safeway,or albertsons. Their fresh is allready a week old.

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

It is a bummer that you are located way out in Yelm, and trying to find shopping options. I don't know if you get ever into the I-5 corridor anywhere. If you can find a Central Market grocery store, I think their seafood is fabulous.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll have to check into a couple of those, I've been craving some good seafood lately and haven't had any for a while:)

Hey Tobeka? Have you discovered Stewarts Meats yet in McKenna?I dont know how new you are to the area but you need to check out Stewarts.Yelm also has a real good meat market. Really good home made Jerky. There are some real good eats in your area. You could probably buy seafood somewhere on the reservation most likely.

Also, in the North End of Tacoma, Queen Anne Thriftway(Metropolitan Market) has a fabulous selection and very very fresh seafood items to buy.

Racfish...yep, Stewarts Meats is great. I try and head there as often as possible because they have some great meat. I just wish we had something close by like that for fish.

Never buy#-o any (farmed raised fish):bom: loaded with every bad deal going!
Cosco has good deals on wild fish on ice season related but read the labels Wild fish only Trader Joes as well or just call me:bounce: :eye:
Always loaded with Kings, Coho, Steelhead, Elk and a Moose, Lings, Halibutts but my prices are painfully earned! :bom: lol
Watch where you crab and set your crab pots as well nothing by Industry and close to big city deals:bom:
