I'm looking into purchasing a pontoon for fishing this summer so I can have better access on the water and those spots I wish I could get into via land! Anyhow, I have been researching and have come to conclusion that pontoon boat is what works for me!
I wanted to find out if anyone on the site has a particular pontoon that I think is descent price and my #1 choice:
It's the Tahoe Fisher Pontoon Boat?
Anyone have further insights on this water craft?
thanks in advance

That is a nice looking 'toon. I am still paddling around in my tube but I can see the benefits. I like my tube because it is easier to handle and move if I have to hike down to the water. Also a bit easier to fit into my van. I have the Caddis Navigator 2. Let me know how you do as I am sure it is the next step on my ladder.

What really intrigues me on this toon is that you dont have to pump it up..Just set it up and off you go! I would like to try it out before purchasing though! Probably won't be possible..considering it is on back order right now, etc..
Does anyone know of any boat shops, etc that can make personal adjustments to the toon that I might. Well, better yet just do the alters may self probably, save $$

I did not check the toon out, but see if Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas have it on their web site. If so, go to the reviews and see what other customers say about it.
Now take what you see with the proverbial "grain of salt", or in other words, read between the lines. Can the reviewer spell? If not, the review may not be, well, useful. I'm not talking a couple of spelling errors either, I mean the whole thing.
Also, see if they are expecting too much. For example, if they rate it a 2 because it catches the wind and blows all over, then they don't have reasonable expectations about toons.

I have an older ODC model made by The Creek Company. Quite inexpensive, I think it would equate to the classic model that they now produce. It has served me well and I do not have any complaints. If you were going to be packing it into alpine lakes, I'd go with an aluminum frame and look at some of the lighter weight models. If you are just looking for something to drag from you car to the local ditch your options are endless. Just deflate after use and keep it out of the sun and most anything you get will last you a good long time. Once you have your new toy the fun begins. Not just catching fish but customizing it as there are all sorts of goodies one can get. I can see it now on the Verses network, Pimp My Toon!
The two basics items I make sure are with me on my toon: an anchor and a rod holder ( I like the Scotty Bait Caster / Spinning Rod Holder). I feel compelled to add personal flotation device as I see many folks without them.

Costco has a pretty nice set up for 360 bucks now. You can mount little trolling motor on it, lots of options and extras.

I personally have a Waterskeeter River Tamer and absolutely love it. I have had it for about 7 years now and have taken it through as high as class IV rapids on the Suak River above Darrington. It handles all well. The only thing that I would add and acually am adding is a standing platform. It is very stable. Last year I floated the upper Cle Elum River in between Salmon La Sac and Lake Cle ELum with my girlfriend riding in the storage rack behind the seat.
Here is a link to my pontoon, the River Tamer.

Here is a link to my next possible toon.

And here is a link to my dream. (great vid if you have quicktime)

I can't afford a new toon right now, especially one of the steelheader.com ones. I would give anything for the guide series Steelheader.com toon. =p~

Nice toon selections Mallard!
I really would like to try one of the toons I'm interested in 1st before purchasing! A test float so to say, haha!
At least look at it..
I think I'm leaning toward the Cabela's one though! Little more $$, but not having to inflate the toon is a real factor for me!

BB- let me know what you think of the toon when you get it? I just ordered mine other day! I was trying to measure the cargo space on top of my vehicle for transporting it around..hopefully, I should have enough space!
Once I get that squared away, gotta find a storage place! LOL. haha
I had to go with the better deal, Costco 289 vs Cabela 399..And, w/Costco you have 2 yr warranty, plus if i dont like it i can take it back down street and return!
I really did like the idea of not having to pump up the toon though! O well, gotta get a small pump now..
Let's go weather!
