12ft livingston boat modifications

Hey guys I picked up a great little 12ft livingston for the local lakes last year and I am looking at adding a few things for comfort. One piece I am looking at doing is adding removable level floors. I have thrown the idea around to use marine carpet but wonder if you might have any suggestions.

Also, does anyone know if there are clamp on seat mounts that have a greater clamp length? I found out last year (buddy showed this to me) any slight lean back slips the clamp grip almost off the fiberglass. It may be something I have custom done but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts.

Couple of good boat mod sites are:

Tinboats.net
and
iboats.com

Here is all the goods on livingston mods from iboats - http://forums.iboats.com/Boats/Livingston" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't know much about modifying livingston boats but I am sure someone on here is.
Can you drill in that area and put a keeper clamp around the bars on the seat mounts? Or would that be through the hull?

Thanks for the info and links man. Lot's of great information there. I think i might add a piece of plywood to drill into. Not too crazy about drilling into the hull. Going to be a fun project. Thanks man!

Any seat clamps on a Livingston are going to clamping the wrong direction as the seat runs right down the middle fore and aft, not side to side. You could put a seat side to side and glass it to the hull. Glass work is fun!

Take a bunch of pix and let us know of your progress. Any project big or small is cool to see around here.

My only other thought is what if you added a block of wood to the back side under the seat so it wouldn't pivot back while someone is leaning into it.
Or like you said, maybe add a sheet of plywood to either side and clamp the legs to it. That way it will have more surface contact to the boat when you tighten your seat clamp.

Can you take a picture of what it is your talking about and maybe others around here have done something similar or could suggest something that will work perfect.
