A quick tip for all you folks with inflatables. Release the pressure at least a little when your not using them, the seams will last longer. Also, if you take a trip over any of the passes or up to an alpine lake be very careful of the the pressure changes, your boat can easily become overinflated and damaged.

Also with the heat of the summer the bladders will expand. Also better safe than kaboom toon explosion before you get to the water. I carry a coleman air pump that hooks to my lighter in the van to top of my tube before heading to the water.

BB- Are you going to purchase some cheap waders?

Not sure,..I'm trying 2 stay completely dry by adding a casting deck,..not sure how that'll work if not then definately yes on the waders!

In my float tube I usually only get wet from the knees down. Being diabetic and needing to be careful about injuries to my legs and infections, I always wear waders even in the heat of the summer to protect my legs from things that may lurk under the surface.

so basically, depending on the weather/heat..you are advising to adjust how much air to pump in the toon(s)?

That would suck to be on water and have the toon(s) deflate or inflate too much due to pressure!

I leave it low when I am in transport so I do not damage any equipment while it is travelling in my van. I will then inflate fully before hitting the water. Though if you are out there a while it may feel like your toon/tube is deflating. I was out there for 6 hours in 52 degree water on Friday and by the end of the day my tube needed a bit of air. It is a learning process for sure on what works well for the equipment you have but I have heard stories of a fully inflated tube left in a car in the summer exploding so I would rather be cautious and just top off the air when I get to the lake.

Just got my New Pontoon today,..Costco Outfitter XT 8',..very nice and it only took me about 40 minutes 2 assemble,..very good intructions,..now all I need is a Troller,..I have the Marine Battery as well as the Electronics with a Troller Mount for the Transducer,..looking into a "Remote-Mount" that I can attache 2 the framework so I don't have 2 swing back-n-forth 2 navigate,..this thing is so cool,..it looks like a Casting-Deck would be pretty easy 2 install once the metal was cut 2 fit,..I might also raise the seat on a post,..I'll have 2 put it on the water and then decide what's next if anything at all,..what's cool is that it fits right in the back of my K-5 Blazer,..I'm ready for the Small Lakes/Ponds!!!!

Nice BB- real nice looking! I'm awaiting on mine! I believe it was delivered today, but I can't check because the apt office is closed! Dang it..LOL! Actually, i wont be able to check it out until Fri/Sat possibly.

Question for ya- what is the width on your trunk? I'm just wondering if when i get mine will i be able to haul as you have yours or will i have to strap on top of my vehicle..

Guess i wont know until i get it and try fitting in..

Have you found any waders at o.k price, think i will check out Joe's or boaters world this weekend for some...

Let me know your opinion on how the toon feels in water?

I'm also thinking i might want to raise the seat a tab bit...

The Toon is about 50" wide and my truck is about 60",..so I have plenty of room,..fits nicely back there and just a bunji 2 secure it,..I'm gonna check on raising the seat 2,..seems a bit low for me,..comfy though,..gonna be a trick "flippin-n-pitchin" though,..either way I think it'll be fine,..already thinking about customizing my Toon,..LOL,..keep me posted TD! Shoot me a PM and leave your cell # ok,..it's nice having my BassBoat but this makes it twice-as-nice!

Will do BB- I can't wait to check this bad boy out this weekend! I still got to get some small accessories tho, anchor, waders, and lifevest, pump..for sure, just to start out! Trolling motor will come later! Joe's had some Hodgman waders for $32 also..

Cool,..yea Costco ROCKS and thier Return Policy is off the scales,..so we win! The instructions 2 assemble are very easy,..I'm sure you'll have no problems at all,..I'll check Joe's tomorrow for some waders! Thanks TD!

I was putting it together last night and all was going good BB until my damn air pump gasket w/the valve popped off and therefore didnt allow the air i pumped in too left toon stay in. I have it at my girls dad house for now. I still have to put on the wheel and oars. But, that can get hooked up at lk before fishing, etc. Now, i have to make some space in my closet to store. Will have to completely de-flate after every use to store it in there.

When the air gasket with little yellow spring popped off it wasted a lot of time assembling, had to re pump like 3 times! Took dang 2 hrs to re-do, didnt have electric pump with me...lol

I spent 2 days on the Flathead River in Montana on a FISHCAT 13 .

Its was a 2 seater it had a casting support bar upfront and many options I think he said everything on her had a full 5 year warrenty as well and we went down some pretty technical stuff .

It handled great, packed the weight but might be a bit more in length then a guy needs but a solo rower can row her as well.

I think it weighed 165lbs without all are personal gear but a 2 man toon it sure fished Sweet.

I also fished the FISHCAT 10 IR one day one float on the upper Sauk it seemed swell also that one weighed in at 86 lbs without gear.

I moved it around like a feather

Not pushing FishCat products but the only 2 I played on as I rowed 17-19 ft Drift boats all my life and love them the best but I understand choices and options to fit your personal needs.

BB- It sucks though man, I have to wait on a replacement part, before I even test and make necessary adjustments on the toon. The valve, where you input the air, it broke on me when putting together on Friday. The toon is already to go besides that. It fits perfect in my closet for storage, as well as in back of my vehicle when deflated. I just have to go to parents crib and get electric air pump and vest now (today). My anchor will just be a bunch of rocks in the bag.

Trolling motor will come later this month or next month!

But, bad thing is. The lady who is putting in order for repair valve said it is out of stock and my order will be a backorder..

So hopefully, it does not take very long to get!
