BB- It sucks though man, I have to wait on a replacement part, before I even test and make necessary adjustments on the toon. The valve, where you input the air, it broke on me when putting together on Friday. The toon is already to go besides that. It fits perfect in my closet for storage, as well as in back of my vehicle when deflated. I just have to go to parents crib and get electric air pump and vest now (today). My anchor will just be a bunch of rocks in the bag.

Trolling motor will come later this month or next month!

But, bad thing is. The lady who is putting in order for repair valve said it is out of stock and my order will be a backorder..

So hopefully, it does not take very long to get!
I will be testing out the Toon today,..meeting up with Basstradamus at a Small Lake,..he'll be in his Jon Boat,..I snagged a 30lb Thrust MinnKota from the pawn shop pretty cheap,..$55.00 and I modified the seat with a 7" pedestal,..it swivels 2 so that'll help,..fits nicely and keeps me out of the water,..hopefully I can land some Greenies today! BTW TD sorry 2 read about your mishap,..Costco has great customer service so I'm sure they'll take care of you!

BB-

Man, that set adjustment/upgrade looks nice! How did you go about doing that?

Yea, the lady at Plastic Gear or something like that, just put in order today for the new part. She did not give me an ETA, so hopefully, not too long of wait!

Do you already have a battery?

I have an electric pump I can use...

Believe it or not I paid 5.00 for the Pedestal on clearance and 14.00 for the swivel on clearance @ Walmart,..guess I just got lucky cause they were both the last ones on clearance,..I looked today and I think total it's like 20-25 $$.

Looking forward in hearing about your pontoon adventures topdawg! Hopefully Friday comes soon for you. This morning on my way into work with the van loaded with tubes for fishing after work I passed a Ford Explorer with his toon strapped to the top and wanted to give him a high five as I knew he was doing the same as I was today.
'course they don't have biscuits and gravy ... but if they did, I bet everyone would eat there.

Yea, baby! Got the repair valve and ready to go now baby! Just wish I had a better electric pump, it's pretty loud, but will get job done. I'm hoping to try it out today after work and Lk. Desire maybe..close to the crib and won't have to fight traffic.

Game time!

I know pontoons can be taken apart but how long does it usually take to take apart and put back together?
Reason I ask is cuz I have a Acura TL...thus I can't really put the toon on top of my car or inside. Nor can I trailer it around...so the only option would be to take it apart each trip.

Is this a waste of time? I'm guessing setup time = 1 hour...take apart = 1 hour?

You know, if you know what you're doing, HALF HOUR TOPS. I got mine down to a fine art to where it takes me 5 minuts putting it together, the rest blowing up the 'toons. Gotta hit that lake when you get to it...Tkaes me 15 min to take down.

thats definitely good to hear.
Thats really the only thing holding me back...I'd have to shove this thing in the back seat/trunk of my car every trip and then put everything together when i get to the lake.

anyway...thats reassuring...looks like i might pick me up the toon from Costco soon :)

Yea, man I highly recommend you get a pontoon, you can add a lot of features to them. Fish finder, seat mount, trolling motor, etc...

And, it wont put to much of a dent in your pocket.

As far as loading/unloading..I load mine up in the back of my SUV the night before, so when I wake up I'm good to go. Now, when I get to lake and set-up, there is no real rush on my part. I find if you rush to fast, you might forgot something vital and it will mess up your fishing trip. Big reason to why I load up the night before.

And, when I break down the toon after fishing, no rush there either..

You will enjoy your purchase

ckim85-

I dont know how big your trunk is, but do your back seats fold down..that could be an option.

Because what I do is leave the frame all attached and just fold up the pontoons (inflatables) and it fits just right in the back of my suv.

I'm guessing you want have as much room as I do though.

I recommend doing a little scouting and measuring your trunk, width wise to see if it might be a possible fit..ya never know..

yeah its going to be a tight squeeze. i would most likely have to deflate the toons and take the frame apart to a certain extent. it SHOULD be ok...

in a couple of months, im going to be buying a new car (SUV) so that should solve alot of problems. just have to figure things out in my Acura for the time being.
Thanks topdawg. i'll be heading to Costco next month to purchase i think :)

Alright so I'll be picking up a pontoon later this afternoon and I have two options that I am considering...

One is the Outfitter at Costco. I'm gonna go check out the store to see if they have any in store. I know I've seen the Outfitter X9 but not the XT in store. So hopefully I can check out either or...
I've read some reviews on the X9 and XT and it looks like the air valve breaks fairly commonly and this worries me a bit...

which comes to my next option, the Creek Company ODC 816. Price-wise is fairly similar and there are some good reviews on it...

Any input from experiences would be very helpful! Thanks in advance.

I have a 1 year old Outfitter from costco I am willing to sell . I would like 265.00 cash. Comes with oars .Its Outfitter XT.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
