2000 FORD RANGER FACTORY TRAILER LIGHT PACKAGE

Post by wishniwasfishn » Thu Jun 25, 2009 5:22 pm

Just an FYI for any body having light problems with your trailer behind a Ranger, if you should lose one side or the other of your brake light turn signal combination on your trailer, I found out that Ford put seperate fuses for each individual side of the trailer lighting after I tore into my wireing harness. The fuses are in the fuse panel inside the drivers door on the end of the dash. Hope this saves some one the same frustration I went through trying to figure out the problem. Good fishing to you all....Dennis

And here's another tip, if you lose running lights on your late model Ranger, but still have signals and brake lights, you'll find Ford also fused the running lights separately. After blowing a couple fuses, I realized I was plugging the trailer lights in when I had the truck lights on - blew that silly fuse every time. I learned, never plug the trailer lights in while the tow vehicle lights are on AND carry spare 10amp fuses to save my behind! :-"
