"This area closed during the hours of darkness"
I see these signs at most boat launches with no RCW attached, there is nothing on the internet about it?
I stay on the water way past dark and fish sometimes till morning. I have been doing this for the past 15 yrs?
What's up with these signs, I have never had any issues with the sheriff or WDFW-yet?

What's up with these signs?
The WDFW is confused about these signs as well since the fishing regs state when open, lakes are open 24hrs.
I think they mean, don't cause trouble there after dark, don't camp, don't party here, no dumping- be quiet

I see your location is Everett so most likely it's a county, or possibly local, ordinance, not state. Check with the county or municipality where the launch is located.

Re: WDFW ACCESS SITES
We've got quite a few here marked this way Hewes. Might have been from the 70s when us rowdy high schoolers held keggars. LOL I noticed a few east of the mountains, ie Quincy Lakes area, Seep Lakes(Hampton... nearly all actually) maybe I'm thinking "no camping" or "over night" parking.
Hours of darkness, from some trouble areas, I'd follow the sign unless you feel it's safe enough. Might have been a high vandalism area at one time.

Hey thanks, being a County Ordinance turned into a dead end aswell.hewesfisher wrote:I see your location is Everett so most likely it's a county, or possibly local, ordinance, not state. Check with the county or municipality where the launch is located.
County ordinances define waterskiing rules, and the few lakes where skiing
is allowed. Speed limits after dark and the use of running lights. Jet ski rules/ hours of operation. BUI/Age of operator
Nothing about the access sites.
I am going to quit asking and just keep fishing,

They do it to keep out the riff raff. We have a few sites around here like that but if you get to know the local Sheriff he will leave you alone and let you hit those night time bites.
