I like the kickstand idea. Although rigging up some rim brakes would be uber cool. Probably a kickstand on the bike, purchased for the wheels.

Say, what happens to the cart once arriving at your destination? I assume the cart is for the lakes with distant, non drive up access. At this point a dilemma occurs. Do I dump it off in the brush, and hope my hard work is there upon return. Or, hike my contraption back to the vehicle it came in or on? Lock it to something?

Because of design, does it pull nicely when empty? Need carrying? My mind takes me full circle during a "build" of this nature. This is where the wheels on the bus really shine. Or in this case "clamped on the boat".

Hate to have someone with "sticky fingers" ruin your day.

A nice touch would be the playing cards that slap against the spokes when rotating......lol!

What happens to the cart once the boat's in the water will depend on the destination. If where I'm launching is close to where I'll be able to park, I will just run it back to the truck. If I have to park beyond line of sight, I will likely bike lock it to a tree. I would be more worried about the boat sitting in the water with all of my gear unattended than leaving the cart locked to a tree.

It pulls/pushes beautifully with the boat loaded. Empty it's light enough to carry under an arm & still have a free hand for my coffee cup. It's too low to the ground to push/pull it around without looking like an idiot. I may be able to figure something out with the straps though so I wouldn't *have* to carry it... Hook the ends back into the eyelets & use as a handle to pull? We'll see once I get it out for a field test.

Gold star for the playing card addition to the project! It's going to happen.
The fish that got away, gains at least 2 lbs a day. It's science.
