This is how I mounted my trolling motor. I hope it works..

How is it mounted to the boat its self? looks pretty good though

2 bolts each side of the front cap. I may have to put a plate up from the angle backside of 2x4. motor in only a 38 lbs.

i would just pull on the motor shaft, if nothing breaks your good to go! i like that idea, should work out pretty good! =D>

Its a normal transom mounted motor. You take one screw out that holds the control head on and turn the head..
