I grew up down south, but haven't been down there for 20+ years. I'm heading down with the fam for the weekend, just trying to find out what are the best/hot lakes in the Yelm/Oly area are this year. Any info and/or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

I've had good luck fishing black lake in the past, nailed some nice bass and trout. There are crappie in the lake but I've never caught any worth keeping.

Ooh, renting a boat sounds very cool, I've heard good things about Offut as well. I think the kids are sick of fishing from shore or the dock! Offut it is. :salut:

I agree with Offut and Ward Lake is producing some limits. I've seen some good sized trout and bass from St. Clair recently and these were from people fishing from the shore. I was in my boat and was skunked ):
Also, I recommend Long's Pond in Lacey, this is juvenile only and has some decent fish and a few triploids also.:-$
