Omak and Lake Roosevelt

Post by drappuhn » Tue Jan 29, 2019 7:35 am

I am planning a couple day trip to both Omak and Lake Roosevelt in the next week. I have never fished them this time of year and I am wondering if both are accessible. I have a 4 wheel drive truck, but prefer to not drive in a whole lot of snow or ice. Any help would be appreciated as far as what boat ramps are best if their is snow or ice. Thank you

As of today, no snow at any Roosevelt ramps. Icing will depend on temps and courtesy, or lack thereof, of anglers letting their boat/trailer drain at water's edge before pulling up the ramp.

Call North 40, in Omak, speak with the fishing Dept. Tyler Hicks will be able to tell you about Omak’s Conditions, probably anyone in the fishing Dept can.

Don’t forget about Buffalo lake on the Res. as well. Good lake. Good launch at the resort.

Not knowing where you might launch at Roosevelt, here are a couple useful links...

Water level

List of launches and usable water level - https://www.nps.gov/laro/planyourvisit/boating.htm

No online source for ramp icing, keep an eye on reports for hint of any issues. [wink]
