Northwest Fishing Reports

I'm headed over to the east side of the state tomorrow to go out with a buddy on Rufus Woods. Also going to stay another day or two with a little 12' boat in the bed of the truck to do some fishing ourselves. (Chelan, Okanogan, Grant, Douglas, Lincoln, and Spokane county is primarily what would work to fish for us) Looking for some advice on where/how to fish. looking to fish a lake with some nice Trout one day and some warmwater fish the other. I've heard Lake Lenore has some decent trout? Was looking at roses lake for the warmwater fish but didn't know if it'd be too late in the year to get into some good, easy crappie action. Thought it'd be cool to get a chance for some channel cats too. Anyway, those lakes is sort of what I had in my mind but I am not very knowledgeable about eastside lakes. Any help on where, how to, or just any advice in general is greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me also. Thank you!

Just go up the hill a little farther from Rosa if you want some trout, Wapato is waiting. Before you try Lenore, have a good look at the regs and I'll warn you the wind blows something fierce through the draw. Good luck and Rufus is my favorite place to fish for trout.

I can tell you about one of my absolute favorite lakes in Eastern, WA.
Check out a litttle lake called, 'Round lake'. It is locsted on Aenas Valley road. 10-12 Miles East of Tonasket.
This lake is maybe 2 acres. It is the most God awful looking lake you'l ever fish. Not a single bit of beauty, more like a pond in a cow pasture.
Lake holds some darn big trout, that are easily caught.
Maybe a long way to go for one lake, but if you are in the area...

Also, if you fly fish, check out Chopaka, above Loomis. Also, Omak lake for Lahontans.. Tribal license available at Walmart in Omak.

I concur Quad! Both are good. It may be a little late for Chopaka unless you're a chironomid guy with a fish finder and love to stair at a bobber all day. Oh darn, did I say bobber, I meant strike indicator......... Its a really nice drive up "The Grade" getting to Chopaka.

My wife's family leaves near Lenore lake. Nice lake with some nice trout, another nice lake would be nunally lake on the west side of Lenore. Less people and more willing to bite fish! A great warmwater lake would be Hutchinson but those lakes are all near grant county. A far drive from Rufus if you ask me

I believe you are thinking of Lenice, not Lenore. Both lenice and Nunnaly have a good walk in and are selective rules and both can have some nasty wind as well. Most people are going to be fly fishing there. Lenore is also selective gear, it holds Lahotan Cutthroats. All three are on the way to Rufus from the West Side Lenore is about 45 min to an hour from Grand Coulee and Lenice and Nunnaly are a couple hours, not much in terms of getting from here to there in EW.

My mistake I am thinking of lenice. Not sure why I didn't notice that before haha

Thanks for the advice everyone! I ended up only staying one night and only fishing Rufus Woods. Got 4 Walleye and our limit of trout there. Trip was cut short due to the early sockeye opener on Baker. Decided to come home and fish that instead. Fishing was amazing there for us.

Thats a great move. If everything wofks out well i want to try that next weekend
