Stopped by the Spanaway Lake boathouse today and was told that the 2014 Lake Tapps / Spanaway Lake boat launch seasonal passes will be available next week. The launch pass for Pierce County residents is still $75. You can purchase a pass now at the boathouse if you wish and then pick up your pass when they arrive at the boathouse.

Edit 02/09/2014 - Stopped by he Spanaway Lake boathouse at noon on Sat, 8th, and it was closed. Will try to get my launch pass on the 15th.

Was able to pick up my pass on the 21st. The phone # for the boathouse is (253) 531-0555 to call ahead and find out if it is open.

Does that pass cover both lakes or are they separate. Also is it a sticker you have to put on the window or a pass you hang in the mirror making it to where I can use different vehicles when I go. Thanks is for the help

- Pass is good at both lakes. Lake Tapps North Park open April 1 - Sept 30. Spanaway is open all year.
- It's a plastic window sticker. My old one peeled off whole, but it rolled into a tube when it came off.

Maybe put the pass in a smallish plastic envelope that is just bigger than the pass, then tape it to the inside of the window. Then you can use it in more than one vehicle. That's what I do with the State Parks Pass.

Or maybe peel and stick onto some clear food wrap (saran wrap) in order to view through and then tape to your window? Could work I guess.

we put the pass on the inside piece of plexglas. and mounted to the console of the boat... so it didn't matter which truck we took... the boats always gonna be going to the lake... neither park seemed to care... we pulled up to the window , told them the pass is on the console of the boat...and rolled forward enough for them to see and wait for them to wave us on....

Sounds good thanks for the help. I always love tapps lake and was gonna buy a season pass for there this year anyways so that will make it better for spanaway so I don't have to pay the launch fee there. I've never really fished spanaway much except for trout from shore. So hoping to get the boat out on the water this year at spanaway and get some good fishing in.
Thanks for the ideas on how to display the passes.

I keep my pass in my truck and Bud knows me at Spanaway so it is not an issue and when I go to Tapps I just hold it out the window and show it to them.

Right now they are not charging at North Park on Lake Tapps. And from what I've seen in past years, usually the toll booth isn't even set up until somewhere close to the Memorial Day weekend. Of course that can change at any time.
