Does anybody have an exact date for the Snohomish county area? I am assuming Saturday, April 27th. When looking on wdfw I find nothing.

Thanks in advance!

Read the reg.'s; in general, WA manages their lakes and streams individually (i.e. by each water); simply, look up the water you wish to fish. You are missing a lot of uncrowded, good fishing by waiting around for "the last Saturday in April".

The current reg.'s are good until 4/30/2013; many lakes are open year around or open early.

General trout opener for lowland lakes has been the last Saturday in April every year. You won't find 2013 opening dates until the new regs come out after April 30, 2013. You will need a new license April 1, 2013.

Don't forget that 47 lakes are being stocked for spring break this week. Check it out at http://www.wdfw.wa.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Actually, since the general season opener is prior to the new regs effective date of 05/01/2013, you will find it in the current regs pamphlet and is stated as the:
4th Saturday in April
which happens to be 4/27/13. [wink]

As others mentioned, ALWAYS check the regs for the specific body of water you plan to fish. WDFW lists seasons for lakes as year round UNLESS stated otherwise in the special rules section. Anglers should only rely on the statewide rules IF the body of water you intend to fish is NOT listed in the special rules section. [cool]

WDFW should change the license year to correspond to the regulation effective dates, IMO, it's silly to have the license year different than the regulation's effective period. [rolleyes]

Thanks everybody! I check the stocking reports regularly. I just love opening day taking my dad out to his favorite lowland lake!

it used to get fish up to 8 pounds put in, but the last few years i dont know of anything put in the lake. I did see some small fish jumping this afternoon.
Lake cassidy just got planted recently. I landed about a dozen or so trout in 4 hours or so of fishing today.
Im sure they will be biting as long as the weather stays good
