BEST WAY TO COOK ANY FISH

This is the best way to cook any fish and it is so simple. I have used this to cook perch, bluegill, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bullhead, catfish, northern pike, lake trout, rock bass, walleye and even regular trout. i wont cook any fish any other way. fillet up your fish, no skin, and do the best to get out all bones. with bigger fish cut up the fillets so they are bite size and thin. no big chunky fillets. grab your fillets and throw them in a bowl of milk let them sit for a while. doesnt really matter. then grab a ziplock bag and put krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix in it. throw your fillets in there. get them nice and battered then fry them up in a pan with oil or butter. this is the best dippin sauce for your fish. i make this every time i cook any fish. half ketchup and half miracle whip in a bowl. mix it up good. if you dont like miracle whip use mayonnaise. seriously i have never heard of anybody cooking up any fish like this and this is my only way i will ever cook fish. even people that dont like fish that try this fall in love with it. next time you cook up fish try this and let me know what you think. you will never go back.

I use krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix frequently! For ling or butt I'll add water, dill other seasonings and it's a great wet batter, not too much water, make it thick and when you think you've added enough dill, add some more! LOL I season the dry mix and use that for trout and such all the time. Add cornmeal to the pancake mix for a bit different texture. I like something different from time to time so I don't rule out any method. Experimentation is the path to new wonders of the palate. Add pickles to your miracle whip and ketchup, it's now thousand island dressing. It's all good!

My favorite all around batter, especially for fish tacos is approximately (I never measure the ingredients) 1 cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of dijon mustard and enough beer, maybe 1/2 of a can to make a medium batter. Dip the fish in the batter then fry in hot oil (2/3 vegetable or canola oil and 1/3 peanut oil) to a golden brown. As a bonus add a bit of minced onion to the leftover batter and drop by the tablespoon into the hot oil, frying to a golden brown also to make hush-puppies.

I use this mix for all white fish and seafood.

Fish >Soak in Milk > Cover in flour, pepper, paprika and salt >Dip in eggs and worchestire > Cover in Japanese honey Panko > pan or deep fry.

Sauce is miracle whip with relish, paprika and lemon juice.

I'm thinking of substituting the flour with pancake mix. Might be an interesting experiment.

Im getting hungry too, time to catch some perch.

Eating a fish is like chowing down on a can of Cat Food. The best way to prepare a fish is to take it's picture and release it back into the water it came from. LOL I love to catch em but I don't eat very many.

Happy fishing

how can you say its like chewing down on cat food. you gotta cook them right and they taste amazing. like you gotta cook deer liver right for it to taste good. same with deer heart, froglegs, grouse, rabbit, doves, venison bear elk cougar ducks geese antelouple, wild turkeys and yes i have eatin robins before. all delicous if you cook them right...
wait until you cook fish the exact way i said i do. you will never throw another one back. perch or bluegill filleted and cooked with krusteaz. omg best thing you will ever eat. its my favorite food ever. yea catch and release is good.. for bass. i have fished in bass tournaments all my life. but every once in a while when i cant catch some panfish to eat. yea i will fillet up some bass cause they taste just about the same. delicious

I just tried this for the first time! It was very good-- it basically tasted like what fishsticks should taste like, ha ha. It went great tartar sauce. I'll definitely use this recipe with white fillet fish in the future! [thumbsup]

Also I just had wheat krusteaz mix on hand-- and it was still awesome.
