Lake Kachess
Does anyone wish to share any information on this Lake? I may try this Lake again although fishing was terribly slow for only one bull trout. I saw many fish on the Lawrence but no strikes.

RE:Lake Kachess
It is my understanding that Kachess can be good for kokes and if you dig deep a mackinaw or two. But then again, I have never fished the lake.

RE:Lake Kachess
Has anyone fished Kachess lately. I had a wonderfull day on Cle Elum yesterday with 5 macs - 4 over 5#s. I could save an hour in my commute by going to Kachess but I've been skunked there too many times.

I posted a report last week. I fished Little Kachess, caught 1 and lost 1. I did not find any schools of kokes. Maybe I should have tried the main lake?

I talked to a guy at work who said he fished off a point just across from the launch and caught bull trout all day. I just wonder if some of them weren't lake trout. Also I've heard there are browns caught near the big rock as you head into little Kachess.epidemic wrote:I posted a report last week. I fished Little Kachess, caught 1 and lost 1. fished it a couple times when my kids were younger, little success. Weird because it's this beautiful high mountain lake with the sound of the freeway all day - kind of like fishing Pass lake.

It's stocked to the gills with Koke's. 16 fish limit or some huge amount. Get there before the water goes down. Hard to find, easy to catch.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!
RE:Lake Kachess
I didn't target kokes but was told to fish Southeast of the launch near the log/stump sticking out of the water. I should try bottom fishing that area for Macs. Supposedly, you can limit within a few hours on kokes in this spot.Bodofish wrote:It's stocked to the gills with Koke's. 16 fish limit or some huge amount. Get there before the water goes down. I trolled it last year with a wedding ring from the boat launch down that side south, dont recomend that section.
I stayed pretty close to shore. Marked very few fish. The fish we caught were squawfish, I didnt relize how big they got. The one I caught was 20" about 3#. When we came in, some other guys said they caught a bunch at the
south end up to 5#. Just think of all the eggs they eat. They should put a bounty on them, like in the Columbia river.
