Hey, the WDFW website said that there were 5,090 trout stocked in Beaver Lake in
Sammamish. Anyone know anything about that?

Rattlesnake received a generous plant of nearly 10,000. Gotta wait to the opener on that one though...

Well, if they're there, they are slow like many have indicated they would be. #-o
Finally had a chance to get on the water Sunday, so went up the Beaver with the brother in law. See my lake report for details.
My new "used" fish finder showed a lot of fish on the upper 2/3rds of the lake, but couldn't get a bite to save our lives. I didn't try to hard as I was playing with the fish finder, but didn't see anyone else catch anything either. The other boats seemed to be hanging around the southwest end of the lake where I wasn't picking up much on the finder.
Maybe when the water temps start to come up, then things will get hotter. Until then.....

Can someone clue me in on how the ratio works when you are reading about the plantings? Like in the quote above.
I see things like 2500 trout stocked per pound. To me that means 2500 fish at 1lb at 2lb at 3lb until infinity.
(obviously that's not it)

I interpret that as 2.7 fish per pound of fish. That would mean that it takes 2.7 rainbow trout to equal a pound of weight. So, each fish is roughly .4 lbs in weight. (Anyone know the real answer?)

Yup Bentrod, you got it. So it says 2000 fish planted at 4.0 that mean that each fish will weigh 1/4 lb

Thanks for the verification SA,
I just finished backing up that thought by looking at the triploid stocking plan. The WDFW states that the avg. weight for the trips to be stocked will be 1.5 lbs. You'll notice on the stocking schedule that many lakes will receive a large number of trout around the 2.7 fish/lb. (normal stockers) ratio and another plant of 0.7/lb. ratio (trip stockers). 0.7 fish/lb is ~1.5 lb.
