This time of the year I would head down to Lake Roosevelt for some bank fishing for Trout.
7-Bays and Hawk creek have been good over the years.
A marshmellow and worm have always worked for me or a chartruce jig and worm under a slip float set at 12 feet or so.

Just remember to p/u a current copy of the WDFW Fishing Regulations. In general, each lake or stream has its own set of rules and season; pick the water you want to fish; look it up in the regs. and then go fishing. Some of the waters mentioned in a previous post aren't open yet; so be cautious and read the rules.

Lake Roosevelt, Rock Lake, Sprague Lake, Fourth Of July, Hog Canyon, Liberty Lake (to name a few) are all open right now and provide some good trout fishing. I strongly suggest picking up a copy of The Washington Fishing Guide by Terry Sheely; available at amazon.com and many local bookstores.

Good luck!
You may need to take up fishing for Trout.
Eloika,Newman and Silver have panfish but they are small.
Access is limited to the launch sites.

I've used this pub occasionally to select a lake to fish. http://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/01375/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would try to catch some Crawdads, fish lake is full of them.
Peel the shell off the tails and use the meat under a slip float.
A Mepps spinner would be my second choice, a #2 in red and white should do.
