how do you catch gissburg catfish?

Post by js7 » Thu Aug 11, 2011 5:09 am

I have tryed gissburg for cats at least a dozen times and never caught anything but trout and sculpin. I have tryed everything:sponge baits, plastic catfish worms, nightcrawlers, dough bait... Is there some sort of secret or are they extinct or something???

I have fished Gissburg off andon forseveral years for trout. I have never personally seen or heard of a catfish being pulled out of there .

tough one to fish due to the abundent supply of food in that lake. the polly's and crayfish are everywhere in there as usual. I have noticed that in that lake that fish are making beds late just like every other lake around there. maybe try a native bait for the lake? I have noticed the bigger bass moving around last time i was there. good luck and let us know
