anyone know of good places near spokane to fish for channel cats, we went down to the snake with not much luck and were curious if there are lakes a lot closer that we could fish for catfish

The snake is the only place locally that you will find channels. Keep working at it, you'll get them and a couple other species. If you want ANY catfish, bullheads can be had at almost all the lakes around here.

I haven't fished liberty in 5 years or so but we hammered the bullhead during the day in about 3 feet of water last time I was out. They were pretty good size for bullheads.

do you remember what you were using, ive read reports of people using jigs and some just using worms sitting on the bottom, i expect both would work, probably just a matter of finding them

Using crappie jigs tipped with a chunk of worm. If fishing at night, worm on the bottom will work just fine.

is there enough channel cats in there, since they poisoned the lake? enough to actually target them

WDFW replanted channel cats after the rehab, so there should be ample opportunity. I'll be looking forward to your report. [thumbup]
