Fished with Eli Rico (guide). Two of us in the boat. Fished not too far off the boat ramp in about 50' deep water.

The water was flat with a little mist in the air, limited in 1 hr. 15 mins., not too big, 15 lbs. but what a blast!

I hate to tell you but a 15lb king is a fairly big one.

A buddy of mine pulled a 30#er yesterday. Just off the sunken forest.

How many boaters have been out there the last few days? I am planning on going out later today but don't like it when the lake feels like the wave pool and wild waves.

It wasn't too bad. The wind darn near blew a couple boats into each other. There were a dozen boats on Thursday afternoon. All the fish were taken in the morning. Had one on and no salmon landed. Did catch a cut.

Are the kings caught out of there right now really brown? I can't imagine that they are chrome.

Yeah they're dark but you don't have to eat them. Where else can you hook up with a 30# fish in freshwater? Just C&R. They're a blast. I must have hooked up with about 20 of these bruisers in the last couple of years and still haven't brought one in the boat. I know it sounds like I'm a rookie, but about 15 of those strikes were in one day last year and I only had 15# test. Today I used 30# test and while the fish was running I tightened the drag a little too much and the leader broke at my flasher. Next time I'll let the fish run. Tomorrow I'll use 40# test. I have noticed, however, that the thicker my leader, the less strikes.
