Night Fishing on Lk. WA from the bank

Post by topdawg47 » Wed Jul 08, 2009 6:44 am

I'm thinking about hitting up Lk. WA WA for some night fishing from various bank spots. Has anyone ever attempted to night fish on lk. WA WA?

I'll be going for what ever I can catch? But, will be targeting Crappie, blue gill, perch, bass in particular. I've talked to SlabKing about the Crappie bites @ various spots..

Anyone have suggestions?

Hopefully it does not get to cold the night I decide to venture out..

Thanks in advance
Go Huskies!

my dad and brother caught bass on a midnight trip under the 90 bridge, but the last time i tried a midnight trip I launched the boat (without the plug, then pulled it out, plugged, and relaunched) and found out i had a dead battery after driving all the way up from Enumclaw. fished the docks at coulon with no luck.

i have not left Enumclaw with a dead battery since................................... but I have had 1 last minute charging session before leaving!

Yesterday evening I hooked up with Returnofthefish and we fished till a lil after 9 pm.As I thought it was winding down more folks were comming out to the dock.I got 1 perch and embarrasing lil guy.As we fished a guy came by and started yatta yatta .I didnt pay much attention to him but this guy started catching perch left and right.I was soon taking notes.I was there 2 hours for my 1 fish.He was there 1/2 hour and got 4 fish.I'm going back w/ a new game plan.Who said you cant teach an old dog (me) a new trick?Good luck everyone.

i've tried Enatai late at night (once until 5 AM...)
not a single fish but we were using those little bells that you put on the tip of your rod and we got some solid bites...just no hookups.

yeah unfortunately, im not sure what you can catch around UW.
I've tried the arboretum area with some friends hoping for some panfish, bass, catfish...ANYTHING...and all we find is bird **** everywhere.

Any suggestions for some night time catfishing on the west side of WA?
I know lake WA and Sammamish are supposed to be good for catfish and maybe the season just isnt right yet but if anyone has any tips on secret spots, I will give you a hug. :)

I've tried a couple small lakes looking for those bullhead cats just for fun but havent hooked any of them yet.

ive done ok on panfish at night in the arboretum before but the bugs are a PITA so i dont really do it. Ive seen some folks do ok on catfish there too. might want to think about getting a fishing light (underwater) or maybe even some chumming (legal on washington) if you're gonna be stationary on the bank at night for any extended period of time.

Catfish in the Arboretum are good. Thats my spot to go.Either very early or late. One big problem with that area is the multitudes of rats
.Down by the Arboretum its rat haven.Worse now are the Nutria. There all around the Portage Bay and U of W area. Go to the Shellhouse and fish next to Husky Stadium. That was always a good producing spot. Or down by the MOHAI.
