I reviewed the crime statfs. Looks to me like Grand Coulee is a hotspot for theft. Cannot imagine why that would be but Its higher than both the state and national average for theft.

I was told by one of my old coworkers that this is right on the meth trafficking highway for the entire country. I cant' remember which highway it was, but there is one that goes through Coulee that is an east/west highway that is not monitored by the police hardly at all. Lots of tweekers and meth dealers in that area. We had a lot of electronics stolen when we were trying to set up our new set of netpens out in that area. Had them stored in a padlocked shipping container while we awaited the locking gate we were going to put in to arrive. They used bolt cutters to get in, and stole whatever they could carry that looked expensive.

I got in late yesterday from a 4 day fishing trip to the area and stayed at the Center Lodge In Grand Coulee. I usually go with friends (2-4 boats) and have done this once or twice, spring and fall for the last 3-4 years. So far, the boats have been fine parked outside the hotel. While the city may have the reputation and the stats to back it up, I wouldn't let that keep you away. Maybe just use a little extra caution.

Any recent reports from Moses? We are heading up there this coming Wed - Fri to try it for the first time. We have fished Potholes many times but never managed to get over to Moses. Hoping the water temps have come up and there is some action.

Brother in Law sent me these from him and a bud from last weekend from Moses Lake. He said it was 'hot' but he is a walleye fishing maniac.

I'm having a lot of trouble accessing the site from my phone, so day one report goes here. I'll do a proper report when I get home.

Fished the North end of the lake across from Connelly park after a very late start. Hooked one small walleye about 12" and released it. Saw several other boats land small ones as well but it was slow.

Beautiful weather other than about 6 billion tiny midges and other small bugs buzzing around. It was nasty when the wind wasn't blowing.

Water temps varied from 56 to 59.

More tomorrow......

Forgot to mention, saw a LOT of fish on the sonar. It was cool watching them on the Panoptic ahead of the boat . They would invariably five for the bottom or move off to the side as we got close..... What ever they were.

Day two.....zip, nada, nothing, not even a drive by. Lots of boats, but we saw no one catching. The sheriff checking boats as they came in said no one was catching.

We are having truck issues. As soon as that's done we are going to try Potholes.....
