PERCH! PERCH! PERCH! CRAPPIE!???

Post by panfisher » Wed Mar 27, 2013 6:56 pm

Had some time to kill so I went to my go to lake and found the perch in full blown spawn mode. When they are in spawn mode you never know exactly how they will respond to your fishing tactics.Tried a dozen different jig patterns and found a strip of yellow rabbit tied to a 1/64 oz plain jig caught most of the perch and the Crappie. Did not expect Crappie but they came and went in about 20 minutes. I caught 4 about 6 inches, and lost 4 that would have been at least 10 1/2=!!" BUT as I left my Net ](*,) at home I could not get them up on shore as they flipped off due to the no barb rule. Saw a lot of big BROODERS (TROUT) Caught 2 smaller ones but for the most part the trout just cruz'd by (Knew it was me again) The perch were so frustrating! As every cast "Had" at least 2-3 (perch) follows just for them to snub the offerings. But making them "WANT" to bite is what put some on the stringer.

Nice fish, I wanted to head there for crappie and trout Monday but just decided to drive to pond 4 instead to fish. I might have to give it a go there when I drive back to Bremerton this weekend.
