Northwest Fishing Reports

I am heading over this comming weekend for a family weekend out of town. I am very familiar with the lakes and roads in the area but not the bank fishing with young kids. If you have any tips i would love to hear them. We are staying in the state park and are looking for some easy fishing, not matter the species or size. Bigger is better or course. A great place for kids is the Mardon fishing docks. Not sure if they charge or not though. Otherwise, any of the places listed in that other forum string. Just warn them to watch for snakes and do a tick-check on a nightly basis.

i'm looking to go to the pot holes in 2 weeks as well.. shore fishing and launching a small boat..

i'm wondering if you can camp around there around those smaller lakes (not at the campgrounds)
i did years ago but that wasn't with my family.. not a lot of trees and cover around there is the only thing i don't like..

As far as Seep Lakes I think I remember seeing a couple lakes that had camping allowed (maybe Long Lake?) but for the most part (down there anyway) I don't think you can camp much anymore. Back in the 80's a bunch of us would just take over the parking lot there at Warden Lake for the weekend - but not sure if that is allowed anymore either.

Well you can camp at pretty much all the lakes but i would not advise it. You might leave camp and come back with nothing left. Has anyone ever fished north or south teel lakes? They look like good access for my little kids. I would really love to get into some pearch and panfish too. I was thinking windmill?

they got a good meth-head population over there?
I see they have an actual campground close by the reservoir, is that safe?

I generally camp off the grid off old logging roads and such and more in the mountains. now with a boat i guess i'll be looking for actual campgrounds or spots not so far off. I don't always trust those pay camp grounds either though, when leaving all my stuff there to go fish or hike, anywhere in the state..

The State Park there is nice.... well it was in the past anyway (the last time I camped there was about 4 years ago).

The state park is nice, I've seen people with trailers and motorhomes parked at the county/WDFW launch and people camp along lind coulee at the launch areas too. Saw some camped over by medicare beach a couple weeks ago too. Definitely watch for snakes, ticks and the mosquitos are bad this year too even in the middle of the day. Good luck with your fishing.
