Northwest Fishing Reports

It's been awhile since I have fished for crappie, but I love 'em. I still have a small tackle box just for crappie, but haven't used it for a while.
I used to night fish for crappie at Lacamas about ten years ago, but the lake has changed alot. In the 80's, I once caught a 13" slab at Silver Lake in the canal under a willow tree that no longer exists due to real estate developement. My biggest slab was 15" I caught on a spinnerbait while fishing a bass tournament in Tennessee.
So where would you recommend going for big crappie or atleast a bunch of fillet-able sized crappie?? Please be as specific as possible.

My favorite crappie lake is potholes reservoir. This reservoir is in grant county and connects to mosses lake but is way bigger. There is a resort on the lake called mar don resort. At the resort is a huge dock that provides excellent crappie fishing from late june to early October. There is also a bunch of beaver huts loaded with crappie, but can take a while to find, and will be high and dry from one week to the next during the summer.

Another lake that I found to have big crappie is sprague. This lake is in lincoln and adams county and is pretty much just a huge mud pit out in the middle of nowhere. They plan on killing it off by the fall. But at the sprague lake camp ground we fished off this little dinky dock and caught a bunch of crappie all were at least 10".

My new found crappie gem is duck lake. This lake is in grays harbor county and is in ocean shores. We didnt catch any huge crappie but it was a crappie on every cast and 3 of us managed to limit out. But it is only a 10 fish limit but they have a 9" min. size limit. We didnt actually fish the lake we fished the canal. The canal is 4 miles long and Im not sure exactly where we were but we just anchored under a bridge and slayed for 3 days straight.

Id say silver lake,ive only had alot of luck when theyre spawning though since they all stack up in the canal. Whenever they werent spawning wed just troll the outer edges of the weeds on the main lake until we found a few crappie
