Being the owner of a little 14' boat with only a 6HP outboard, would walleye fishing below McNary Dam be to sketchy? I've only Stergeon fished from the bank there and people tell me theyre pulling a lot of walleye out of there right now (below the I-82 bridge), but im not sure how to rig down there, where to go in a small boat, or any depths or needed information! Help?

The water is still high and running swift even though it is starting to lower a bit. I would be a little wary with the 6hp, but if you are comfortable with your boat than go get them. We have been fishing down river in the Crow Butte backwater and knocking the walleye dead. We also have been catching them on the river side of the butte using bottom walkers with silver spinners with green beads and a trailer hook. Fish are being caught in 25-30 ft. When I fish up around the bridge you are talking about I use the same stuff looking for humps in the same depth. Will pick up some nice smallies and some pretty big perch. Pretty good time of the year right now on the Lower Columbia. Walleye aren't huge, but the last one I caught was 3.10 lbs. Good luck and have fun.
