What's your favorite Power egg color?

Post by GeryG » Thu May 17, 2007 11:19 pm

They got so many power egg colors now. I just bought some of the pink/white. They look cool=p~
I'm a big fan of the chartruse ones. The chartruse/red are not bad. I troll all the time, except in early spring, and thats when I break them out. Accept for the chartruse & orange ones I use trolling, when the bite is hot and I get tired of replacing the dough bait.:d/

If I had to pick just one it would be Orange. I normally use one orange and one lemon-lime on a size 8 or 10 salmon egg hook ofr plunking.

I absolutly hate power eggs used them when i was a kid when they first came out. I did catch fish but now you cant pay me to use them. Lots of people use them every where i go some are floating by the dock. but i cant stand them i will stick with the old faithfull chartruse and rainbow past. But dont get me wrong they work a old feller at mineral lake caught a 7 pound rainbow with 2 yellow ugly, foamy, plasticky eggs last week I was there.

I have had tons of success with the yellow ones, but that was just at one lake. Anyone a believer of different colors being more successful at different lakes?

Absolutely cmessling07...Some lakes produce better on other colors...Gotta experiment and test around with different colors to achieve the best results...

Absolutely, some colors do seem to be more in certain lakes than others. However, my two top producers are Chartreuse and Fl. Pink.

sometimes the colors for a certain lake change day to day. The temp can change the hot color and even the clouds on sunnys days one color on cloudy days another color

This weekend I saw blue power eggs. It was the first time iv ever seen them in blue. I remember a few years back they use to have blue power bait , but its been a couple of years since Iv seen the blue. They are nitro, not Berkley. But I bought them any way. Any body ever had any luck on the blue

Are they light blue or dark blue? I have luck with light blue colors on a lake that I fish, and used the blue power
bait out of the red/white/blue. It is lighter than the blue nuggets they use to make.

I am not sure if its the light or the dark. This i my first time seeing them so I don't have anything to compare them to. But if I had to guess I would say its the light color. There are called something like the amino blue moon

my two favorite are Chartreuse and Fl. Pink when I'm bank fishing Beaver Lake in early spring.
several years ago I caught a 7 1/2 pound broodstock out of Beaver at the boat launch with the Chartreuse and Fl. Pink combo smeared with Garlic dip.

yellow seems to work pretty good down at Green Lake.

I've had good luck with orange at times.
