Northwest Fishing Reports

These clear nonmetal snap swivels which are suppose to be invisible in water.
Has anyone used them?
Is this the first year they came out?
How good do they swivel for trolling?
Do they break easy?

I think these are a good ideal, but I have not tried them yet. I'm worried they wont swivel good enough for trolling wedding rings which I use only.

We have invisible line, so it makes sense to have invisible swivels, they are bigger than the line.
I troll all the time so it made sense to me to try them.
With my leader only 5 feet long, a metal swivel would seem to be visible to the fish in clear water.
Five feet is the longest I can go on my leader and still reach the fish to unhook.
I run 30 feet of fluorocarbon from my mainline to the swivel and also on my leader, which is suppose to be invisible, sense doing this several years ago, it made an improvement in the amount, and size fish I catch.
I fish mostly clear water, so I hope these new swivels work.

Any opinions?

these are clearly pointless. save your dough and run a small high quality metal

Ehhh. I'd be too worried they wont consistently rotate like you said, No previous experiences but they are going to be pretty delicate, to easy to melt plastic from heat or smash/ break/ alter for me to rely on. Not pointless though may be worth a trial run if the price is right. Everyone always turns there noses up at the next new thing .

Never heard of them, try em, let us know! Interesting idea...... You're described gear sounds invisible, a tiny chrome or black ball bearing swivel 5' from your hook may only add curiosity for a fish. I wouldn't expect a different catch rate by going to plastic but who knows! ;)

Post a picture. I have never heard of these. Who makes them? And what are they made from? Im sure you can get a good poly material that is incredibly strong vs brass, in which I have broken many, many swivels at the most inopportune times.

I knew the snap swivels were in the works but haven't used them yet. I use the other swivels for trolling and they work great. They are a flouro carbon material very tough. They have been around for sometime and are very popular on the east side of the mountain and have been gaining in popularity on this side. They never stop spinning the water is the lubricant that makes them work. I pro-staff for them and those of you that know me know I don't lend my name out for something I don't use or doesn't work. I have been using them for about 5 years, Bobby Loomis turned me onto them.
