I'm looking for feedback to forward to the organizer of the annual Lake Roosevelt Two Rivers Spring Thaw and Fall Rainbow Trout and Kokanee Salmon Fishing Derbies. Recent years has lacked attendance for a variety of reasons, however the potential for a better derby is desired!!!!! The 2014 Spring Thaw dates are tentatively scheduled for April 26-27, while the Fall Derby has tentatively been moved from the second week in September back to August 23-24. The organizer wishes to firm the date soon so any feedback on the dates would be appreciated. Please feel free to comment on the structures of the derbies or post questions about them. Thank You Very Much!!!

At first glance it looks to me to be a great derby. I will be fishing that area a lot up until the weekend of the 26th. Starting that weekend we plan on a 2-3 week trip to the Lake Chelan area to do some pre fishing before the Washington Lakes potluck. Also by using the title "Two Rivers" does that mean you would be fishing from the Tribal casino because that bring up a lot of other issues with a lot of folks(including myself) that I have talked with and read forum reports from.

I know for certain the spring derby is sponsored by Two Rivers Resort and Casino and I'm almost as certain the fall derby is too. All derby activities take place at Two Rivers Resort and Casino, pre-launch cooler and livewell inspections, weigh in, awards and barbecue.

I think attendance may be down due to tribal politics and the "regulatory authority" assertions they have been making the past couple years. I'm not sure where the current policies toward sport anglers stand, but if the reports of their intended aim to contest their regulatory authority to the middle of the lake continue, I will not participate. Have already ceased support of any tribal "business" no matter where it is. [-(

You and me both brother! Vote with consumer sovereignty! It's our only means of protest for their heinous actions.

In the beginning when Two Rivers was started up and came to be my brother and I thought what a wonderful thing this was going to be to have a camping area, get food and supplies and fuel. Well now with tribal unlawful authority to try and take over Lake Roosevelt waters we are definitely not going to support the derby or participate in it again or anything else that involves any tribe that wants control of this great lake.
