Riffe Lake

Post by stretch » Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:46 am

Hey all -
If I remember correctly, Riffe should be heating up with Kokanee right about now. Fished it about 3 years ago with the 2 pole endorsement, and had a blast. Between 2 of us, we had 6 times with 4 fish on, with 73 between both of us boated and released. Anyone been fishing this recently?

Let me be first...

Riffe has silvers, not kokanee. :)

Anyway, I bet now would be an excellent time to fish it, although I have not personal experience. Just a hunch based on other (kokanee) lakes.

You got me there. I have been mis identifying these for years now. Always thought there was a Kokanee fishery, but apparently not. Thanks for correcting me!

I fished Riffe the first weekend of August out of Mossy Rock at the face of the damn area. I was fishing 50-60 ft deep in 150 ft plus water. I was using glow shrimp mikes smelly jelly dick night 50/50 and pink hot head dodgers with a 8 lbs leader fluorocarbon I recommend going to 10 or 12 had something big break 8. At the time pink squid were the ticked used cha cha size in hot pink glow 1.5 also used on that was red head white middle and yellowish bottom. I didnt use bait after reading past reports but I did bring raw shrimp and worms. Good luck
