Garbage Clean-Up Around Lake Tapps

A BIG Thanks to everyone who came out last Sunday to help with the
Adopt-A-Road clean up on the road leading to Lake Tapps.
We had a GREAT time and who knew you could have so much fun while doing
something good for the environment!
There is something very satisfying about doing a good job for Mother Earth,
with no expectation of payment; it is just the right thing to do.
We had several cars honk in gratitude or stop by to say how much they
appreciated the work. We even had some business owners come out to greet us
and tell us they thought we were a “great bunch” for jumping in and
cleaning the road, including in front of their businesses. The stretch of road from
the intersection near Lake Tapps Marine & Ski, to dike 4 and back, is now
immaculate and the dike area was, as usual, a mess. Pierce County road
crews will be happy to pick up a stack of some 40-45 bags of garbage, that will
now stay out of the lake and the yards of property owners.
Our volunteers were treated to a donated lunch at the Rock Pizza after
a morning of toil.
Our Chapter members who helped should be very proud of a job WELL
DONE! I know the rest of the Chapter who could not come this time and the whole
community, appreciate all your hard work!
