I'm planning on attending the Muskie school. Know absolutely nothing about muskies.Any recommendition on websites with educational materials, "how to" articles, etc would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for the "muskie fishing for dummies" crash course. Any suggestions?

Hey Firetiger:

Here are a few to get you started:

http://www.nwtigermuskies.org/tutor.html -- Chapter 57 Musky U. page .
The NW tiger want a little bit different presentation than their Midwest cousins.

http://www.muskiesinc.com --

http://www.muskyhunter.com/index.shtml -- MuskyHunter magazine. Check out their New Items under Musky Shop. They have 3 new videos (just keep in mind that those #10 blades are best saved for that trip to Vermilion, MN. lol)

http://www.muskylink.com -- some great photos plus a national forum

http://www.muskie411.com/index.shtml

Looking forward to seeing you at the The Muskie School; it will be your best bet. Having Larry Ramsell in the house is going to be awesome. He is from the revered Wisconsin waters near Hayward on the Chippawa Flowage. He's been doing it for over 45 years; we ALL will learn a trick or two! You can't find a better teacher. Plus they will have the 2008 Angler of the Year, Mr. Brett Olson AND the 2007 Angler of the Year, Mr. Michael Floyd on deck to pass on their tips about how to catch and releases our NW Tigers.
Great hot meal planned for the days festivities, too! Anglers are coming from out of state for this one, don't miss out.

Of course, you'll want to read the article "Tiger Musky Strategy" that I wrote for Washingtonlakes.com, which is geared to readers just getting started in the sport. You can use either of the links below.

Swede, you're more than welcome to show up for our Musky School or club meetings, crusty attitude and all. In fact, we'd love to have you! If you don't mind hanging out with cranks and egomaniacs.

Hey Lucius;
Glad you asked that!
Yes, we will have the Angler of the Year for 2008, Mr. Brett Olson as well as the Angler of the Year for 2007, Mr. Michael Floyd. They are the two best anglers in the state when it comes to tiger muskies and their presentations are great!
They both spend a huge amount of time on the water and Lake Tapps is their back yard.

We also have Mr. Don Wittenberger to do an in-depth review of his favorite lake: Merwin down in Clark County.
We have a few others lined up, too; and a few surprises. :thumright

:-$ For all of you bank fishermen that is the way Brett Olson fishes and catches tiger muskies most of the time. He'll be presenting his strategies at the school.

Larry Ramsell
Brett Olson
Michael Floyd

Amazing trio of anglers who are all eager to share their stories.
Think we can get them to autograph something? :colors:

Hope Larry is bringing his latest book(s)!
