I have received confirmation from a witness that baby tiger muskies were released into Merwin Lake on Wednesday! Merwin was supposed to receive 700 of these 7" planters and Mayfield 300. This is a small leap for a fish and a giant leap for our fishery! Washington is stocking tiger muskies again.

just curious, but why is it that the 7" baby tigers aren't in danger of being consumed by the big ones:-"

They release the tigers in the fall to help reduce the predation. Predatory fish like the tigers and bass are out in deeper water at this time of year. Predation by waterfoul is also much lower than in the earlier parts of the year. They do this with th trout up in Curlew too, works very well.

This is the time of the year that big fish put on the ole feed bag.
They are feeding heavily and putting on extra fat for the winter.
Now I understand the 65% mortality of the first years stocking on Tigers.

Good luck little tigers, you will need it.

Saw a few of the babies yesterday!

They were hanging out by a really big downed tree.

That's great news Don............there will always be some that don't make it through the first few days, lets hope most of them are adjusting to their new home.
