Howdy Y'all
Well I'm pretty excited,my wife wants to start gunning for tigers. She has used my baitcaster before but doesn't care for it much. She's great with a spin cast,so I'm on the market looking.
Any suggestions for a spinning reel? Adavantages/Disadavantages?
This reel will ONLY see muskies and pike,no saltwater. If I end up paying top dollar for a big name reel, thats fine. I figure its money well spent to get the whole family out more. However,if you know any good sales....I'm always looking for the bigger, better deal.
Thanks
Kevin

Hey homie,
Joe's just had a killer sale on Diawa spinning reels. I got my wife a Diawa crossfire 4000 series reel. Its pretty as she stated in the store..Actually got hers at Sportsmans warehouse..but Joes' had em' on sale too. Like 14.99 - 24.99. You wanna get at least a 3000 series or higher. Have her hold it and get Heavy action/fast rod to go with it..See how she likes it..Its gotta be heavy. But light enough so the girls don't get tired from it. Thats cool that she wants to learn..get her in the Chapter too while your at it...Talk at ya later, Todd

Good advice guys
My wife is going to join the chapter, its a matter of when. She enjoys fishing but I wouldn't expect to see her on tourneys anytime soon.

I have one I will give Her but you will need to match It to a pole.
I'll bring it to the B meeting on Sunday.

Kevin,
I bought my wife a new rig this winter through Sportco. There aren't to many spinning rods with the action to handle muskies or the tackle used to fish for them. St Croix makes a Premier that seems great for this sport and my wife loves hers. It's a PS70XHF. Premier Spinning 7' Extra Heavy Fast Action. I know Sportco has another in stock because they were thinking ahead when I ordered my wife's.

Kevin, Bill found a rod to go with the reel. We'll bring them both to the meeting.
