Musky Replica

Last year my grandfather and I caught a musky out at Newman, she was just under 47 inches and topped the scale at 25lbs. Here is the replica we just got back. The live photos can be seen with the post from Newman lake from last summer. Oh yeah, like Deadeye's fish this one is also still swimming this year to become somebody elses even larger wall hanger.

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully most anglers are now aware that realistic replicas are available for about the same cost as a skin mount, so you can have your trophy and release it too. Also, these replicas don't deteriorate over time like skin mounts do. All the taxidermist needs to make a nice replica for you is the length and girth measurements, and a snapshot of the fish. Lax and Fittante are two well-known replica makers, but I'm sure there are others.

Gone Fishin,
Nice replica. You've got the memory now for the rest of your life plus you're sharing the thrill by the fact that you released her.
Don, You're absolutely right on the replica concept. Another fact is that you don't have any of the hassles associated with handling, transporting, storing and freezing and shipping of a dead fish. You always get the exact size fish with a replica where you don't with a skin mount. A skin mount is always smaller simply because of the shrinkage associated with the tanning process.

Mark, I'm affraid your replica got burried under the Tapps reports. If you need some help, send the pics to my e-mail or you could ask your better half:-$ By the way, that thing is awesome. After looking at it,a replica mount is the only way to go.

If you're asking if I'm getting some driftwood etc for this replica - no. I'm not much on anything like that. It usually just takes away from the fish/deer/etc. I like it just like it is.
