GREAT Tournament yesterday! A good time was had by all!
Excellent fish for Mike, deadeye & KUP !! This was KUP's FIRST musky and it was a beauty.
And 3 close calls for Mark H. !! Next time, buddy!
My boat mate was chattering for hours about that first fish!!!:)
It was fun watching the excitement during and after netting it. Right on, LOL!

Thanks to everyone involved and for putting on this great Lake Tapps Tournament. Everyone there was laughing and having a great time, with fish caught or not. You would think it would get discouraging throwing lures for 8 hours and not getting one in the net. But just the opposite is true. Musky"Hunters" seem to be that rare breed of outdoorsman who is patient and tenacious and who has a great respect and awe for this magnificent fish.
Who else, would put in that much time, that much money in equipment, then gladly, gleefully and with no small amount of pride; RELEASE this magnificent fish.

It was good to see everyone stay after the tournament and tell their "tales" of the day. Fishing should be fun!!! It is a time to forget your troubles and simply enjoy the day. It is also a great time to enjoy the camaraderie of being with fellow anglers.

Excellent fish for Mike who won this tourney with his 44 incher...Bravo Zulu!!! my friend!

I hope to see you all again at the Lake Mayfield Tourney in September.

"Dedicated to the pursuit of the Noble Muskellunge." That is the name of this forum.
I think that means; for those who LIKE to hunt them.
Mike and Aaron have done such a wonderful thing in posting this forum for all of us. It is SO appreciated, thank you!

As you get older, time seems to slip by faster and you find yourself really looking at what is important in life:
Family, friends, time well spent. And you try to do just that: spend time well.
For me, this past year, it has been with a musky rod in my hand. Dedicated, on the water as much as I could be. Watching. Listening. Learning. Reading. Watching videos. Spending countless HOURS on www.muskiesinc.com
and of course, helping to start the First Muskies Inc. Chapter in Washington.
You know you are addicted when you start to hide lure purchases from your husband, especially the $32 ones.
woo ya.
So, after 1 full year and I think the required 10,000 casts, I landed my very first muskie yesterday. Can you tell I am grinning ear to ear as I type this?
I grew up on a farm and am no stranger to the outdoor life. I have hunted. I have fished. I have skied down mountainsides with slopes as steep as elevator shafts (White Pass). I have picked berries in the wilds Alaska with a rifle slung over my shoulder to make sure I was the gatherer and not the hunted.
But this catch, this little bitty catch of my 31 incher, was bigger and better than ANYTHING.

Maybe it is the waiting, the patience, the hope that drives these anglers. I do not know. But it is different than any other sport I have ever tried. And it is such a WONDERFUL BREATHLESS FEELING to see one in your net. I would like to apologize to all the home owners on or near snag island... it got a little noisy there for a while. I had promised Patricia Strutz that she would be able to hear me all the way to Wisconsin when I finally landed the first one, and I do believe she did.
Now here is where it gets interesting; the patience of the chase, the excitement of the hook set, the precision of the netting, the exhilarating feeling of slipping your hands along his mouth to get the proper hold, the long-awaited quick picture, ..........nothing compared to the feeling of holding onto that tail, making sure he was upright and good to go, then ... letting go... and watching him swim away strong and sleek and yes, MG, there was that "look" they throw you.... LOL.
Now I know, I KNOW, why thousands of these great fish are released every year in the Midwest.
For some strange reason it made me want to beat my chest Tarzan style. LMHO!!!!!

For me, it has become a passion.
This fish, Noble? oh yeah.

NW TIGER PAC members are so friendly and there is such an old fashioned belief in "we are here for the fun!"
I am honored to be a member of this Chapter.
