Kayak Fishing on Tapps

I recently purchased a couple of fishing Kayaks and want to start hitting Tapps on the weekend mornings as I live about a mile from the west side of the lake. What is the best option for launching Kayaks there? I seem to remember from a few years ago that one of the public parks opened their gates early on behalf of the fishing boaters. I think it was around 6:00 AM but started charging around 7:00 am when the recreational / ski boats started coming in to launch. I am hoping someone will know the details, or have other suggestions where vehicles can safely park and the bank / shore could accommodate launching kayaks.

Thanks

To my understanding (only been there once) the only way you are getting on there earlier than 6 and without being charged is to be a homeowner along the shore, or know one that will let you launch..... Nice spot to fish, but loads of traffic. Had a great time while I was there.

Craig,
You fished with me about 2 years ago..a couple of times if i remember correctly. You could probably park at Allen Yorke and chuck those kayaks in the pond over there. W/o paying the $18 to put in there. Or use all those connections you have out there. North Park is 7 bucks to park your rig and can paddle from there. Since you don't have a trailer. Car topper? There are a ton of options out there for kayakers..Or even off of 214th st. bridge? Good luck Craig, Todd

Thanks for the replies,

Hey Todd,

I do remember hitting the lake with you and hopefully some of the good tips you showed me. Since I want to hit the water so early, I would feel I was imposing on anyone I know by asking that I come dragging a kayak around their house while they are still sleeping.

I will do the gooogle map thing to find that 214th bridge you mentioned. It would be great to avoid the public launches since I would be coming in about the same time the masses are launching to go out.

Thanks
