Close encounters of the Muskie Kind

Sunday morning I took my 5 year old fishing on Silver Lake (spokane) for perch and bluegill. We where anchored in 25 ft of water. The boy was catching fish after fish and we could see a school of bluegill along side the boat and the fishfinder had targets over the whole screen from 5 to 20 feet of water. (great entertainment for the young ones a little boring for dad so I was just a spectator)
The boy was reeling in a 10 inch perch as he reeled into the school of bluegill, the bluegill disappeared in short order so i leaned over the boat to see what was happening. My son now had reeled the perch within a foot of the surface with a 32-36inch Muskie in hot pursuit. As he flung the perch intot he boat over my head that was next to the water I was face to face with Mr. Muskie. The Muskie put the brakes on, turned, and his tail (NO Bull) spalshed the two of us at the surface inches away from the boat.
After I finished soiling myself we had a good laugh, it ways a morning I won't forget.
